Taking shape, from the first drawn line.
The art of making
Slowly taking shape.
Between the hands.
A ruler, shears, leather and cloth. The everyday objects of the worktable mark the beginning of a piece. From drawing and cutting to guiding the material through the sewing machine, each join brings its form into focus.

01 / Marking & cutting
A line. A cut.
The beginning of a form.
A line drawn along a ruler. A shape cut with the weave in mind. Fingertips hold a panel as the shears follow its edge; flat pieces of leather and cloth await their next join.

02 / Seams & edges
Guided by the material.
Fingers steady the leather, guiding its edge beneath the needle. As the stitching advances, panels meet and the lining and outer layer begin to share a form. Craft lives in these moments of concentration.

03 / Touch & detail
From the touch of a hand
to a mark in the leather.
A gentle fold between the fingers reveals the leather’s thickness and suppleness. Panels, backing and smaller components are prepared at the worktable. On our barrel covers, a blind-debossed leather label sits at the body seam; passing light reveals the depth of its lettering.

Thread & colour
A single thread.
Part of the whole.
Ivory, warm beige, charcoal and a touch of muted colour. Among the spools are choices that complement the material.
Details begin at the worktable and remain in every touch that follows.
